HOW WE WORK
Our process is tailored to prioritize your best interests and deliver the results you’ve envisioned in the most efficient manner possible. To transform your dreams into reality, we follow a series of carefully crafted steps. Here’s an overview of our process:
INTRODUCTION:
Our journey commences with an introductory meeting between you and Windson, the General Contractor. During this meeting, you will have the opportunity to learn about our company and how we operate, while we gain an understanding of your project expectations. This initial connection can take place through a phone call, Zoom call, or email exchange. It serves as a preliminary evaluation to determine if our approach aligns with your needs and if we are the right fit for your project.
If both parties agree to proceed, we will arrange a personal meeting at the project site. This on-site meeting allows us to familiarize ourselves with the existing conditions and gain insight into the work environment. Additionally, we will assess the current stage of your project and discuss any specific details or challenges that need to be addressed.
In the event that you have not yet chosen an architect, we can assist you in this process. Alternatively, if you have already obtained a set of plans, we will review them with you to gain a comprehensive understanding of your goals, intended investment, and overall vision for the project.
This initial phase serves as the foundation of our collaboration, allowing us to establish clear communication, align expectations, and lay the groundwork for a successful partnership.
PLANNING AND BUDGETING:
Following the initial site meeting, we will diligently review your plans and combine them with our detailed notes to establish a preliminary budget range for the project with an initial scope of work. This crucial step allows us to provide you with an estimation of the potential costs involved. It serves as a valuable tool for assessing the feasibility of the project within your budgetary expectations. During this stage we also design a rough schedule for the project timeline so we can begin to outline expectations.
If the preliminary budget range aligns with your financial requirements and goals, we are ready to move forward with the project. However, if the preliminary budget range exceeds your expectations, there is no need to worry. We will collaborate closely with you to explore options for value engineering. Through this process, we will identify opportunities to fine-tune your plans, streamline the design, and optimize the project’s cost-efficiency without compromising on quality or functionality. Our goal is to align your project’s scope and budget, ensuring a successful outcome that meets your requirements
CONTRACT
We usually suggest a cost-plus contract for our projects. Under this agreement, you are billed for the actual expenses incurred, along with a fixed fee or percentage markup. The advantage of this contract is that you only pay for the specific goods and services you receive. As new concepts and modifications often arise during the construction process, they can be seamlessly incorporated into your project through a separate change order agreement, without disrupting the ongoing construction. This approach ensures smooth project progress and financial transparency for our clients.
During this stage we also establish a more in-depth, clear, and concise scope of work so all Stakeholders are aware of the tasks being handled by the many different trades & vendors that will be a part of the project.
SCHEDULE AND PERMITTING:
We understand that deadlines and scheduling are essential elements of any project, and we approach them with a focus on setting realistic expectations. While we acknowledge that unforeseen circumstances may arise during the construction process, we are committed to delivering projects within the agreed-upon timeframe. After the contract is made and we begin filing for construction permits we have a better understanding on how the project timeline will be.
It’s important to note that the project’s timeline is contingent upon obtaining the necessary building permits. As part of our commitment to compliance and adherence to local regulations, we require the building permit to be approved and in hand before commencing construction.
REVISING THE OVERALL PLAN:
With the established deadlines, expectations, and budget in place, we enter a phase of ongoing revisions. This phase is crucial for monitoring progress and making any necessary adjustments to ensure that we stay on track with the project objectives and budget.
CONSTRUCTION:
We’re ready to commence the project! We set a start date and ensure all necessary arrangements are in order for a successful beginning. Activities such as site clearing/excavation, foundation work, framing, engaging specialty contractors, and finishing touches now come into play. The project starts to take shape, which can be overwhelming and challenging at times. However, with effective communication, thorough explanations, and thoughtful solutions, it can also be a gratifying and fulfilling process as you witness the project unfold before your eyes.
This phase also requires a lot of fluidity & flexibility. We know aspects of the build will change rather through the request of our Stakeholders, through forces of God, or through changes in the industry. Being ready and capable of adapting quickly and moving forward is key to the success of any project.

We had a dormer bedroom and office added to our home in Arlington. After many calls and quote visits, JC General Contracting was by far the lowest price in the area and their work was phenomenal. We hired Windson and his team to finish our basement, which included adding a 3/4 bathroom. From the get-go, my wife and I could tell Windson was not like the other contractors we had gotten quotes from. Windson was knowledgeable, respectful and his communication skills were unmatched. He helped guide us through the design process, making suggestions on how to better design the flow of our basement. He responded to our questions promptly and shared updates on the progress of the build regularly. The build process went smoothly, and we were extremely delighted with the final product that was delivered. I would use Windson again for future projects and recommend him to friends.
Honorato Company was such a pleasure to work with, they built our first home! Windson was respectful, knowledgeable, and professional. He set our expectations just right by being honest. Throughout the build, he found creative solutions to keep the project going and to resolve the issues we encountered. José was always checking in on the crews and making sure the craftsmanship was the right quality. The process wasn’t “perfect” but knowing we were working with good people made it easier. We loved them!
Windson supervised making a new full bathroom for our house. The project had a lot of different components, and Windson was extremely knowledgeable about all of them and found creative solutions as needed. For example, the window we wanted was back ordered and would not arrive in time because of extreme COVID-19 delays. Windson found a very good solution: a window of a slightly different size that fit in after some reframing. We also required the window frosted, and Windson arranged to modify the window he found to make it so. Later we needed some repairs for the deck and Windson's extensive expertise as a GC was again crucial to make the right decisions and do the structural repair without spending too much money. We are very satisfied with the quality of the work.
